Still complaining, but with a more relaxed mood..

Same situation as last month. No damn gaji = not going to the opis. So requested to work at home. 

And gaji magically popped out from nowwhere on Monday evening,  only been notifed on Tuesday afternoon... damn .. should've start working from home the week before ..

Managed to get some work done ... as in Zoids and Bionicle ... mwehehe ... who wants to do programming at home anyway ? >:)

Last time i've played this was in 1999. Took 3 persons and 1/2 semester to finish with Cloud at level 99 + all summons + all limits breaks + insane amounts of gil + the legendary golden chocobo ...

Sticking to the "If it ain't  combining, I ain't buyin'" rule, this guy features a Micron companion
that turns into the rear missile launcher for Thrust.

uu.. and the Air Military Micron doubles as ninja weapon thinggie too.. (one transforms into a vauge-shuriken like thing, the other turns into a wolverine-claw thing .. the last one I have no idea :p)

And for you Yugi-Oh, Magic TCG , card game fetishs' , the info/bio cards included in the box are metallic ..

Planet mode's not actually round like Primus though ..

Even comes with spring-loaded chompers. Handy for muching down some asteroids, planets , moons ...

 

Robot mode comes with light-up fist and blinking eyes. Mini-con activates one phallic-looking missle (though not as the same league as BW II Galvatron's drill mode :p ) launcher that pops out from the chest. Also, there's 3 spring-loaded missles on both sides of the legs.

Zoids Rez Tiger

This is the new limited edition Hobby Magazine Zoids Rez Tiger :

Based on the Whitz Tiger mold, but different color + a sword.

Makhluk halus Diaclone

Got myself a KO diaclone figure last Saturday. Gats-Blocker in Japan or Multiforce-14 in US and Europe. Splits into 14 vehicles. RM15.90 (20% off, kira sendiri) at Jusco Equine Park.

Didn't cared much about the toy itself (which really sucked). Got it for just for these guys >:)

5 Diaclone pilots. Just nice for my G1 TFs.

To the uninitiated, Transformers toys started their life as Diaclone figures. This was back in the late 70's till 1982.

When the first TF series started, some of these Diaclone toys mad the way into TF, some slightly remolded or repainted.

Most diaclones comes with small pilot figures. They have magnetic legs (my KO doesn't). Other than that, they also left out the pilots. Hey, if it has pilots, it won't be TF, right. Thats more like Gundams (or Kondams, in transMy :p)

So, if you're wondering why G1 prime's chest opens (no its not originally intended for the matrix), roller got a seat and Ultra Magnus's chest plate looked like something can seat in there, it's all seats for these Diaclone men.

Devil possessed Zoids Death Stinger !!! :-O

To any of you who owns a Zoids Death Stinger, you'll probably know it only walks forward in one direction. Last night something happened. My Death Stinger walks in all direction and terrorized Psyduck !! :O Scary stuff ahead ...

See I told you something was fishy... No Zoids could do that ...

OK, lets cut the crap short. I've actually managed to stuff an R/C receiver into the Death Stinger (DS).

There's a CP for DS called CP-16. It's a wired remote control unit that plugs into a port underneath DS's battery pack. CP-16 gives DS 4 channels of movement (forward/reverse/left/right).

Since DS's battery pack has on 2 pins, how the heck CP-16 can have 4 channels of movement ?  At least there should be 3 pins, ie, 1 common ground and 2 positive terminals.

Then I found out that the plastic block on DS's battery port on the body can be plugged out. There's 4 pins underneath it. Got a battery pack and started to test the pins.

As I expected, DS uses 2 motors, each one controls one side of the legs. Kinda like tanks. Forward one motor and reverse the other motor, and DS turns. Forward both, well, it goes forward (duh)..

The DS wasn't actually mine, so I had to design an external box that can be plugged and unplugged from it without the need to cut anything from DS.

This is the receiver board I canniballized from a cheapo Audley Race-Tin Gen-3. Armed with my horrendous soldering skill, I made a break-out board to connect to the pins on DS. Plugged out 4 pins from an unused sound card too :p Not shown here is another break-out board that connects to DS's original battery pack.

Made a box to stuff the curcuit in. Cannibalized yet another unsed PC accessory, this time a printer cable, the parallel one. Who uses parallel printers in this USB age any way ? :p

Here's the finished stuff. Still crude, but it works. Used plaplate for the box too. Maybe I'll wrap the box with epoxy putty and sand it to make it look more like a CP soon. Too lazy to do it now ..

Another angle. See the protruding antenna ? And the parallel cable housing looks like a cannon (to me lah, to you I don't know ...)

Last night got myself the final two components for my Armada prime.

1) Sonokong Micron Legends Ultra Magnus (that's Overload to those who watched TF:Armada)

This is the Korean version of Overload. Released under the Sonokong brand. Sono.. WTF ?

Sonokong is kinda like Hasbro to Takara. They manufacture TF for distribution in Korea. They also reissues some figures from the Yuusha/Brave line.

Quality wise, it's almost Hasbro-like. Nice packaging though ..

Yey ! No stupid wire twistie tie thingie ! Though these guys have cellotape fetish ... +_+" No twistie tie means its easy tu put back into the box for storage ( or selling it MIB >:) ) . MISB ? bwueek ...

This is Ultra Magnus's Mini-con/Micron. Quite big than your standard Mini-Con.

MIni-Con robot mode. Kesian... no fists/fingers ... :p Compared here with SparkPlug and Comettor.

No you know why they named it Overload ... This is Ultra Magnus pulling its trailer. Can double up into JetFire's carrier vehicle too.

Ultra Magnus in this mode is bulky. Not very articulated. No knee and shoulder joints. Oh, when you push the Mini-con in to the big robot to form the chest and head, you'll get to hear the Classic TF transformation sound. Corny, but cool ...

No other Mini-Con triggerable features available on this figure except for the sound thingie. Which I don't think can count as one..

BTW, there's two hidden missle cluster pod on the shoulders. Can also combine with Prime's trailer in base mode to form a gigantic twin cannon.

2) Takara Micron Legends JetFire

Standard Takara JetFire. Not the Powered-up version.

Hmm.. after alot  of cellotape and one twistie tie on the Mini-Con later ...

The shuttle mode looks nice. Very bright white. Features openable cargo compartment too...

This is Comettor, JetFire's Mini-Con. Transforms in to Lunar Rover and front tyres for JetFire's shuttle mode.

Push Comettor on the center booster, two side wings will pop-up..

Oh , there's also two bombs, which you can drop/activate using the Mini-con on Jet-Fire's wings.

There's also another accesory included, which is supposed to be JetFire's rear tyres for its shuttle mode. It also doubles as a chest plate for Jet Convoy (Prime + JetFire)

For JetFire's robot mode, see the pix compared with Ultra Magnus. Too lazy to snap anymore pix :p

Robot mode's quite articulate. Has all the essential joints. Wish could do something with the wings though.. doesn't quite match the overall robot mode.

FINAL FUSION !!! (whoops .. :p)

You can combine Prime, Ultra Magnus and JetFire to form a super long transport mode thingie. Kinda like Star Convoy + Grandus + Sky Garry ...

Very nice, no pieces need to be removed, so the risk of losing parts is minimal ...

This combined mode is extremely top heavy. A bit unstable when standing.

But it looks very good. JetFire becomes Prime's new pants. Ultra Magnus becomes the twin shoulder mount cannons and a gun. The two cannons comes with spring loaded missles.

Conclusion : I like it ! Now my new gen combining Prime collection is complete. I have now complete sets for SuperLink Grand Convoy (OP + Omega Supreme + Wing Saber ), RID Omega Prime (OP + Magnus) and Galaxy Force Galaxy Convoy (Galaxy Convoy + LeoBreaker + Sonic Bomber ).

Hmm... God Ginrai ....

KO TargetMaster Hot Rod

Seemed that last week's 'must-get' hot item at TransMy was KO G1 reissues. Most of the TransMyian's have raided their local Giant to get 'em. Not all were lucky though .. :)

I've already got the KO Perceptor and SoundBlaster. What I need now is just Hot Rod. Got mine at Giant South City Plaza. Yeah, I know, some certain person will says SCP sakkksss .. Sebab tu la it still has lots of the damned KO left :p ..

This KO here is a TargetMaster Hot Rod. TargetMaster because it comes with a small figure that transforms into a gun. Oh, it also comes with Perceptor's spring-loaded rocket launcher.

Here's the TargetMaster figure. It's called FireBolt. The one with orange feet :p (The original version had silver legs). Here is FireBolt compared with NightStick (Ori punya). Damn .. the KO is bigger.

Here is HotRod compared with Ricochet (Ori jugak). The original Hot Rod should be more or less the same size as Ricochet.

Overall, it's quite ok. A 'lil bit loose on the legs. The paint job kinda sucks.

Hehehe ... at least my collection for this KO series is complete. Perceptor finally got his rocket launcher :p

Yey ! got me self an Armada Prime ...

Last week I got myself a Transformers Armada Optimus Prime. Original 2001 Hasbro version. I got the KO version before, which pretty much sucked.

This Prime version transforms into a truck with a tank-tracked trailer. Also comes with SparkPlug, the mini-con. The Japanese/Takara version , MC-01, was more hard to get, the price is also quite ridicilous. Other differences includes, gold paint is bright yellow on MC-01 and the Mini-con/Micron name is Prime.

The cab comes with 3 LR44 batteries pre-installed. All that is needed next are 4 AA batteries for the trailer. 4 AA batteries ? WTF ? thats like 6V to operate the thing. Now turn the trailer switch to 'On'. Hehe .. nothing happened ...

This is the cab and the Mini-Con transformed. Prime's smokestacks can combine to form a gun. Both of them are fairly articulated. Best looking Mini-Con too.

Like most modern Prime/Convoy designs, the Matrix is also included. It's not removable like Galaxy Convoy though ...

Oh, did i mentioned that when I transformed Prime, the trailer automatically transforms into a Mini-Con base ?

It's magic, witchcraft, black magic, sihir !!! It's damn cool.

The trailer just poped open by itself. It's triggered when you pull the left arm of Prime. There's also  light & sound FX after the trailer has completed the transformation.

The best part is, even though it uses infra-red to transform the trailer, you don't need to be in the line of sight  of the sensor on the trailer. You can even transform the trailer when standing up and the trailer is on the floor.

Base mode has lots of goodies for Mini-Cons. It's more a battle platform than a base to me.

Prime can combine with his trailer to form its Super Mode. Just change him into the upper body and the trailer/base will rise automaticaly to form big set of legs.

In this mode, Prime is really big. Not to mention heavy too. Very stable. There's a button on the shoulder that will tun on a small light in Prime's fist. Attach his bad-ass gun an press the button. The gun will light up.

The problem here is just that he lacks articulation. Almost as brick as Star Convoy. I don't mind that. The auto transforming gimmick justified it. This guy can combine with two other TFs, JetFire and Overload. I'll be getting those two in a month or two. Stay tuned ...

KO G1 SoundBlaster

Went to Metro Kajang with Anis to find 3V relays for my R/C DeathStinger project last Sunday. Didn't find any. All 6V and above.

Went down to Giant after that. Then I spotted a shop in front of Giant. It had lots of KO toys >:) The shop was actually still Giant's. Maybe for stock clearance perhaps.

Lots of KO's. Saw SuperLink Superion Parts, enlarged, Micromasters and RobotMasters. Boring stuff.

Then Anis spotted someting good. It was a G1 SoundBlaster. Complete with Buzzsaw. RM15.00, angkut terus.

Once upon a time, SoundBlaster was very hard to get. Originally released in the Transformers:Headmasters line. In the cartoon, SoundBlaster is actually SoundWave rebuilt. SoundBlaster could hold 2 cassattes in its chest compared with SoundWave, only one.

Furthermore, it was japananese only. Prices could reach up to USD 1000 for MISB. Then Takara reissued it back some years ago. Still expensive though :p

See those red leg, they're actually leg extention. Gives the impression of really long lengs. Same thing happened with my KO Perceptor too (same series,same manufacturer). Dunno what for. Maybe the KO designer has a foot fetish. Fret not, it's removeable.

Instructions at the back of the card were excruciatingly small to read. Hmm.. they also have Hot Rod ...

Here you can see BuzzSaw and Ravage. The Ravage came with Perceptor. Sucky legs, now paw joint. Very loose and hard to stand properly. BuzzSaw head was loose too. Tends to tercabut when transforming from cassette to bird.

SoundBlaster was kinda good. Joints are quite tight except for the fist, which has no lock at all. Slides out in radio mode when you lit it. The chest is opaque as opposed to the original which was translucent orange.

In radio mode, well, it's a radio. Interestingly, did you know that the original Diaclone/Microman SoundWave version was a Walkman, complete with headphones. Thats why you don't see any speakers at the sides of the tape deck like Blaster/Twincast.

The KO people didn't bothered to put the battery compartment at the back. So the guns/battery had to be left behind when transforming into the radio mode.

As I said earlier, the tape deck can hold to cassettes. Have to push a little bit to fit the cassettes. It's kinda tight. Besides, the cassettes finishing sucks. Very rough. Have to sand a bit.

OK la.. I think my RM 15 is prety much justified. Kesian kat Ravage, xde geng. Now he has BuzzSaw to play with...

Anyone know where to get KO Hot Rod ? >:)

Wokeh, here's the second part of my KO GaoGaiGar review. On with the Gao Machines.

Here's Stealth Gao

The stripes and GGG logo on the wings are actually stickers. Very good, no smudge like most KO's. The red lines on the turbines are painted. Kinda smudgy, but not bad.

Turn it over, you'll see GaoGaiGar's head and golden chest plate.

Here's Liner Gao

The sticker that they use here sucks. It came off while I was trying 'Final Fusion' with Gaigar. Could be the lack of glue I guest. Notice the blue thing on the top left hand side of Stealth Gao's picture up there ? That's one of the offending stuff.

Liner Gao has 2 tyres/rollers underneath. You can roll it all day long if you have nothing to do :p

My favorite Gao machine. The golden drills looks good. And the tank tracks are quite detailed. No sticker here.

Final Fusion is kinda tricky at first, but it's very easy to master. Here, all those countless times watching the Final Fusion sequence actually paid off.

You need to force the legs a bit to make it clip nicely with Drill Gao.

Sticking Liner Gao into GaiGar was not an enjoyable affair. You'll have to force the damn thing in for the first couple of times. The slot inside GaiGar was a bit rough (hey, rememer it's a KO). If you happen to get one, and have the patience, use sand paper or filer to clean the insides a bit.

For Stealth Gao, you need to make sure the clips on it and GaiGar's upper arm are well in place. If you don't, GaogaiGar's head won't cover GaiGar's head completely. Took me 2 tries to get it right.

Stealth Gao's turbine's has the 'slide-link-hand's pop-up' like in the anime. Very cool. Too bad It didn't rotate. You can't have everything, right ?

DIVIDING .. DRIVER !!!!

GaoGaiGar look good when combined. But it lacks articulation, unlike GaiGar. One best thing that the KO people managed to put was GaoGaiGar's chromed Golden horn(?) on the forehead. The original Takara version was a lousy solid yellow one.

Looks majestic enough for display. Most people won't notice it's a KO >:)

Well, that's the end of part 2. Part 3 will be KO Goldion Hammer which I recently acquired, somewhere far away from the place where I got GaoGaigar...

GaGaGa! KO GaoGaiGar - Part 1

I've always wanted myself a fully transforming and combining GaoGaiGar since the first time I saw it.

There are many versions, but the first one ever released was the Takara made 1999 DX GaoGaiGar. That now is a vintage toy and very hard to get. Saw it once at Time Machine,Times Square selling for about RM 250 after discount (originally it was Rm 300+).

Other independent companies released their own enhanced version (very possable + metal parts) which was more expensive. This includes CMs and Maxfactory. They're about RM 600++.

Can afford the real one ? Get a KO ! At 1/6 of the original price, it's a steal !

The one i've got here is an imitation of the Takara DX version. Comes with Gaigar(the white robot), Stealth Gao, Drill Gao, Liner Gao, Dividing Driver and a CD.

First thing I noticed even before I bought this guy was the claw on GaiGar was messed up. They acually mis-assmebled them on the wrong hands (think terbalik / left to right). What do you expect, after all, it's KO after all.

Armed with a screw driver, i did a minor surgery on it >:). The operation was a success.

Suprisingly, GaiGar is very well articulated. It's very possable for a toy that's been released in the late 90's. Even Transformers at that time were still considered a brick (they lack limb joints).

Despite those, the're still some minor isuues. GaiGar's thighs were fat, and the legs below the knee is short and skinny. Makes GaiGar very hard to stand properly. The arms were good, but the claw sucks. You can't do the claw weapon thingie (like Wolverine) like in the anime .

FUSION ! GaiGAR !!!

There's no instruction sheet given too. After countless times watching the 'Fusion' sequence on the anime, I've finally managed to transform GaiGar to Galeon the Space Lion.

Galeon look convincing from the front. The back legs sucks though.

Seemed like GaiGar/Galeon was good enough for me. Being the fact that is a KO, i'm very impressed with it. The paint job and the chrome parts were a bit sloppy, but still tollerable. I've seen more hedious paint job on a real toy before.

Can't wait to combine GaiGar with the Gao Machines.
